Extended Information on the Use of Cookies
Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (browser) for reuse during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even days later (persistent cookies).
Cookies are stored, according to user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behavior and service usage.
In the remainder of this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply using the term “cookies.”
Types of Cookies
Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:
Strictly Necessary Cookies. These are cookies essential for the proper functioning of websites and are used to manage login and access to restricted site functions. The duration of these cookies is generally limited to the work session (they are deleted when the browser is closed), but in some cases and without any warning, longer-lasting cookies may also be used (expiring after 30 days) aimed at recognizing, for such period, the visitor’s computer through an alphanumeric code generated during the first access session, in order to reproduce the test results performed by the user. Their deactivation compromises the use of services accessible through login. The public part of the sites remains normally usable.
Analysis and Performance Cookies. These are cookies used to collect and analyze traffic and site usage anonymously. These cookies, while not identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow monitoring of the system and improving its performance and usability. The deactivation of such cookies can be performed without any loss of functionality.
Profiling Cookies. These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously and non-anonymously) user preferences and improve their browsing experience.
Third-Party Cookies
When browsing the web, you may receive cookies both from the visited site (“proprietary”) and from sites managed by other organizations (“third parties”). A notable example is represented by the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned sites and integrated into the host site’s page. The most common use of social plugins is for sharing content on social networks.
The presence of these social plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by “third parties” is governed by their respective privacy policies, which we ask you to refer to. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of the various privacy policies and cookie management methods are listed below.

Google Analytics
The sites also include certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). In this case too, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyze information about website usage behaviors anonymously (including the user’s IP address). Such information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it for the purpose of drafting reports for operators regarding activities on the websites themselves. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google’s analysis tool to monitor or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data owned by Google nor does it seek to link an IP address with a user’s identity. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the aforementioned information on behalf of Google.
For further information, please refer to the link below: https://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/
Users can selectively disable Google Analytics action by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable Google Analytics action, please refer to the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Cookie Duration
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” browser closure and are available even in subsequent user visits.
These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, an expiration date is set; in others, the duration is unlimited.
However, by browsing web pages, you can interact with sites managed by third parties that can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.
Cookie Management
Users can decide whether to accept cookies or not using their browser settings.
WARNING: total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of site functionalities reserved for registered users. Conversely, the usability of public content is possible even by completely disabling cookies.
The disabling of “third-party” cookies does not prejudice navigation in any way.
The setting can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Moreover, the best browsers allow defining different settings for “proprietary” cookies and “third-party” ones.

What is a Privacy and Cookie Policy
It is the document that describes the methods of processing personal data of users who visit the website www.excogita.eu. This is, therefore, information provided also pursuant to articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) – for those who simply browse the site and for users who spontaneously send communications to the contact details of excogita.eu made public on the site.
Detailed information may be provided on pages of www.excogita.eu in relation to specific services.
The information is not valid for other websites that may be consulted through our links, for which Excogita Srl is not responsible in any way.
Data Controller
The controller of personal data processing is Excogita Srl with headquarters at Via Renare, 12 – 06031 Bevagna (PG).
Place of Data Processing – Subjects Who Can Process or Access It – Recipients
The processing connected to the web services offered by this site (physically hosted on Italian territory at Aruba s.p.a.) is carried out at the Data Controller’s headquarters and is handled only by personnel authorized to process them. Occasionally, third-party suppliers may be granted temporary access to the site’s memories for exclusive technical assistance purposes, in compliance with legal requirements and under the supervision of the Controller. Data is not communicated abroad.
Beyond this, no data resulting from interaction with the site is communicated to third parties or disseminated.
Types of Data Processed
Navigation Data
The computer systems and software procedures responsible for the operation of this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This is information that is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects, but which by their very nature could, through processing and associations with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.
This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the site, addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used in submitting the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computer environment.
Navigation data will be collected exclusively in the legitimate interest of allowing the user to enjoy the content published on the Controller’s Internet sites and their correct administration and management. This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information about site usage and to control its correct functioning and is deleted immediately after processing. The data in question could be used to ascertain responsibility in case of possible computer crimes against our site: except for this eventuality, generally data on web contacts is not kept for more than seven days.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that visited sites send to the User’s terminal, where they are stored, and then retransmitted to the same sites on subsequent visits.
In compliance with the provisions of the General Provision of the Personal Data Protection Authority of May 8, 2014, users are informed about the cookie management methods of this site.
No personal data of users is acquired by the site in this regard. No use is made of cookies for the transmission of personal information, nor are so-called session cookies or persistent cookies of any type used, and even less profiling cookies. The Content Management System (WordPress) used by Excogita s.r.l. could release technical cookies essential for correct site display or navigation.
Excogita.eu, through the “Share this article” function, provides users with buttons for sharing content through social networks or other communication tools. Pages containing such buttons do not release cookies from either Excogita.eu or third parties. However, obviously, by clicking the symbol of the chosen sharing tool, the user will access functionalities or platforms of third parties – for which the Controller of Excogita.eu is not responsible in any way – which could release cookies and collect personal data.
Data Voluntarily Provided by the User
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of email to addresses with the extension @excogita.eu indicated on this site entails by its very nature the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, necessary to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message. The legal bases for processing are, therefore, the Controller’s legitimate interest in responding to received communications or the need to fulfill pre-contractual requests made by the data subject. Data will be kept for the time necessary to satisfy any requests from the sender or issues submitted to the Controller and, in any case, for the time imposed by specific legal provisions. The sender has, however, it should be remembered, the right to request their deletion according to the methods, conditions and limits provided by article 17 of the GDPR.
We invite our users not to send in their communications names or other personal data of third parties that are not strictly necessary; much more appropriate appears, instead, the use of fictitious names.
Voluntary Nature of Data Provision
Apart from what is specified for navigation data, the user is free to voluntarily provide personal data to request information or services. Their failure to provide such data may result in the impossibility of obtaining what is requested.
Processing Methods
Personal data is processed in electronic format, for the time necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, illicit or incorrect use and unauthorized access.
Rights of Data Subjects
Pursuant to articles 15 and following of the GDPR, the user has the right to request at any time access to their personal data, rectification or deletion of the same, limitation of processing in cases provided for by article 18 of the Regulation, to obtain in a structured format, commonly used and readable by automatic device the data concerning them, in cases provided for by article 20 of the GDPR. At any time, the user may revoke pursuant to article 7 of the GDPR the consent given (where consent has been requested); file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority pursuant to article 77 of the GDPR (Personal Data Protection Authority), if they believe that the processing of their data is contrary to current regulations.
The user may also formulate a request for opposition to the processing of their personal data pursuant to article 21 of the GDPR in which to provide evidence of the reasons that justify the opposition: the Controller reserves the right to evaluate the request, which may not be accepted where there are obligations or legitimate reasons prevailing over the interests, rights and freedoms of the user and which impose or justify the continuation of processing.
Requests concerning the exercise of the aforementioned rights must be addressed to the attention of the administrator of Excogita Srl with headquarters at Via Renare, 12 – 06031 Bevagna (PG) or to the email address: info@excogita.eu
